UNFOLD EVERY CHAPTER
Singapore based fashion label, B1NARY or B-NARY started in 2020. Both foundersspecialised in Fashion Design & Textiles in Lasalle College of the Arts. We aim to create womenswear and menswear (coming soon) featuring prints inspired by the pluralism surrounding the designers’ lives.
Bringing to the table exclusive edgy-looking classics that relates with your urban lifestyle. Timeless silhouettes with bold prints. Delicate textiles used with an unexpected twist. Serving as your daily muse of a wardrobe that combines attitude with a laid back feel.

The label is also designed to offer products and accessories which can be customized and tailored as per customer requirements, enabling people to get their favourite piece that fits them well.
We aim to work with social enterprise platforms such as Tamar Village. We believe and aim to support NGO NPO and contribute back to society. We are also exploring ways to enhance the whole supply chain, looking and working with local resources.
B-NARY will also be reaching out to various unique independent designers / creatives / entrepreneurs for collaboration and work opportunities. Apart from fashion statements, we aim to provide a platform for many individuals to play their part and contribute to the society.
What’s the story behind this collection? Who/ what inspired it?
“eventually everything connects”
Our pace of life is getting faster and faster. The effects of acceleration are real, and we need to start taking them seriously. We are all living indispensably with all kinds of connections we make with self-being and our surroundings.
The world titled, Equilibrium , is a capsule collection on a journey of finding balance between the new and old, the softness and toughness, the concealed and exposed. In this series, we explore with the motif - Paisley. Paisley bears an intriguing resemblance to the famous yin-yang symbol - a powerful tool to engage one to understand what clothes signifies. We want our clothes to be able to speak on behalf of you. We want to communicate through clothings.
Perhaps the secret to such an immortality print is how it is able to combine conformity with unruliness, how it is able to blend its vintage characteristics and adapt with the modern & futuristic society. Through the collection, you will be about to see how our lady is dressed in femine
fabrication with a mixture of the toughness of leather armour. Afterall, Equilibrium is a collection that supports and balances one another.
What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?
Education.
Social media has brought connectedness, innovation and diversity to this industry. Fashion functions as a wardrobe encyclopedia. We were taught to always update with the latest trends, participate in the fashion scene - either by wearing the clothes, talking about the style and even just watching from afar with disgust or admiration.
We know that art / fashion is a subjective topic, yet it manages to connect every individual. We see trends repeating because we will always have a moment of ‘nostalgia’ and we will like to bring back the 90s/80s/70s/60s trend. We even go as far as to watching historical dramas and movies, getting awed by the dramatic costumes and we dress up. We will end up googling for inspiration whenever there is a occasion around the corner (i.e. Halloween / Christmas / Prom Night etc). We will get inspiration by scrolling at our Pinterest / Instagram / Ficklr / Tumblr.
