WINE AND CHEESE FESTIVAL 2018

The Wine and Cheese Fest
is about good wine, good cheese and a few other of life’s pleasures!
Te Festival brought us a great selection of local and international producers at the atmospheric environment of one of the oldest historical, buildings close to CBD - Meat Market in North Melbourne.
We visitors met the local wine and cider makers, cheese producers, local beer brewers, olive oil, charcuterie and other smallgoods producers. The festival supported local, hand-made products – come along to find out how they are made and how to best enjoy them!
We all learnt about cheese making and wine tasting at the masterclasses held throughout the day (that was included in our entry ticket). We also enjoyed live jazz music at the main stage and some DJ beats in the courtyard area. There was also an opportunity to apply to be part of the Grape Stomp Comp and win some "winey and cheesy" prizes too!
Due to the SELL OUT FESTIVALS in the past 2 years, this year’s event comprised of 2 sessions to allow more comfortable experience for all attendees.

REVIEW: Cheese and Wine Festival 2018
By Bryanna Reynolds
The annual Cheese and Wine Festival 2018 was held at the Meat Market just on the outskirts of Melbourne’s CBD.
From the moment you set foot into the cheesy festival you were greeted at the gates by friendly staff and a wine glass for tastings. A welcoming moment as soon as you enter always gets you off on the right foot!
The Cheese and Wine Festival is a combination of food, drinks and entertainment celebrating the iconic tastes of various cheese’s and wine delighting your taste buds with a culinary adventure. There were even guest lectures from chefs, business owners and entertainers throughout the event.
There were an assortment of stalls throughout the venue where different companies had a selection of their finest products for festival attendees. The best part is, if you like what you taste then you are able to buy some and take it home with you! A fair warning though that in order to taste at the festival you also have to buy tokens. This was a little bit of a shock as this was noted as a change since the festival last year.
Needless to say the organisers of the festival have also included many instagram worthy moments with cheese platters on offer and musical acts to entertain. There are many opportunities to take in the sights, eat and be merry with your friends and family.
Make sure to organise a group of friends next time the festival comes to town and be sure to try the delicious offerings.
I would recommend this festival for anyone who likes spending time with friends in a family friendly atmosphere where you can let loose your culinary desires and try the new tastes that Melbourne has on offer.
