REVIEW: XIU XIU live performance at The Substation
By Bryanna Reynolds
Bohemian Rhapsody Club were lucky enough to have a chat to the performance band XIU XIU ahead of their performance at The Substation venue in Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia.
You can watch the official video of the interview with band members Shayna Dunkelman, Angela Seo, Jamie Stewart on our Youtube Channel Bohemian Rhapsody Magazine.
After the interview XIU XIU performed to a crowd of over 200+ people at a beautiful converted venue space that resembled an abandoned yet vibrant factory.
The ethereal sounds of the Twin Peaks soundtrack reverberated off the brick in laid walls of the rooms and surrounding corridors creating the most wonderful David Lynch esque feel.
Throughout the performance XIU XIU simply captivated the audience and had them under a trance which inspired you to feel the beats and become lost in the moment.
It was a very unique experience to have been a part of and see a world class band such as XIU XIU in real life. They are larger than life and you must simply see them in real life performing to experience the magic they share from the stage with the audience.
The best aspect to seeing XIU XIU was having them take you on a journey through their music. It wasn't like other performances where it was just music, they took you visually and audio visually on a tour through the mind of David Lynch and the award winning music from the TV show Twin Peaks.
I cannot wait to see what XIU XIU will do next and wish them all the best on their next tour. Make sure you get tickets to see this awe-inspiring band in action.
