Lavandula's Lavender Harvest festival
It was such a great opportunity to enjoy the whole day with family in this fantastic place!
The processes and uses of this wonderful plant are broad and interesting, such as harvesting with hand sickles, bunching for drying, distilling for essential oil and floral water.
It can be used for dried flower arrangements, filling potpourri satchels, culinary lavender used in cooking and oil and water, soap and medicine.
This festival was full of emotions from local Morris Dancers, Pepita Emmerichs with her talented brand of folk music, very interesting demonstrations from lavender distilling, lavender wand making (my daughter loved it) and wool spinning.
Also the local artisan blacksmith showed his art of fine metal constructions.
There was a face painter for all ages, with a French accent and a great sense of humour, as well as a clown and a wishing tree for kids and adults.
There was an abundance of food from the massive wood-fired oven, an Italian-style BBQ and a festival-sized paella. But, our favorite was the lavender scones and lavender ice cream.
If you want to spend a romantic time with your beloved partner- hide in the purple fields, take great artistic pictures to keep the happy memories in your family album for ever, then you will love this festival.
A great day for the whole family, dog friendly as well.
