Miss Gay Cabaret 2018 By Bryanna Reynolds I was lucky enough to cover the Miss Gay Cabaret held at the Pride Of Footscray Bar in Melbourne, Australia. Hosted by the talented Esther Rix whom is the current Miss Gay Australia International Winner of 2018. The amazing lineup of the performers was representative of the night being about inclusion of trans and gender diverse performers and giving them an opportunity to shine. The event as a whole was exhilarating to watch and experience due to the joy of the people on stage. Each performer brought their own unique taste and spin to classic hit songs that resonated with and included the crowd. The best part of the cabaret show is that it provides a safe space for people in the LGBTQIA+ community to feel safe and enjoy a night on the town. The night as whole is as inspirational as it is amazing talent on display. Being a fan of performance art especially in the LGBTQIA+ community, this was one of my favourite events of the year. I can't wait to see what each and every performer gets up to next. I also look forward to seeing them all flourish with life, personality and ambition. I would recommend this sort of event to anyone who loves sitting back and watching a cabaret show. If you are part of or an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community then this is a safe place for you, you will be surrounded by new friends every step of the way. Thank you to Miss Gay Australia International for the opportunity to cover their event.
