In 2007 he went on to study at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore and the University of Huddersfield, where he graduated with BA(Hons) in Fashion Design. Before he started his degree, he got a chance to work with big names of the industry like Metro, Giordano, Astro Boy Fashion, Beverly Hill Polo Club and Hush Puppies. Terry has also won several prestigious accolades, including being the 1st Runner Up in the Young Singapore Fashion Designers Contest, a national competition, amongst others.
He graduated in 2008 and started working on his own line and opened his studio “The InSane Studio” in 2009. Taking on non-mainstream projects like “Melissa AW15 Launch”, where dresses were made in paper for their show and 27 ways to cut a tee for “Samsung Fashion Stepout 2013”. He loves to explore far out of the box ideas and bring them to live. He is one designer that doesn’t go by the trends but does what he thinks is right.
In 2018, Terry will launch a new label, “ThisLabelIsUnknown”. This fashion label is about exploring the dark grey line between genders, making it an androgynous fashion label. Aiming to propel modern fashion and make androgyny fashion more accessible to the mass. This label also represents the unknown venture of fashion foresight as everything is now timeless and genderless.

JOANNA LIM
DESINGER’S PROFILE:
At a young age, Joanna found her passion in Gymnastics. With every routine having to be precise and executed within a specific time frame, its inculcated perseverance and sheer determination to perform every move with perfection. The blends of flexibility, rhythmic movement and power has led her to cultivate disciplinary habits whilst finding ways to express herself through movement. Despite going through arduous training and pressure, her love for the sport has become a part of who she is as an individual and ultimately shaped her to who she is today.
Drawing parallels to Gymnastics, Joanna believes that fashion is a captivating subject and is about expressing your identity. Her aesthetics aim to reinterpret a concept and recreate the work through her creative mind and eye. Understanding how the body functions and what it is capable of, gives Joanna the idea of how clothes can be interpreted and designed.
Translating what was once flat to a three-dimensional one, “after-all, the body does come in various shapes and sizes and not just a thin sheet of paper.” As a textile designer, “I want to bring prints and textile manipulations as a form of a messenger between the wearer and viewer. I believe that I can turn art and facts into something more definable and wearable.
”
Joanna aims to design and construct clothing to tell her audience a story through visuals, which in this case, through the garments. The cuts, colours and fabric choice are elements of the storyline. And the outfit functions as a character – the wearer’s identification.
Joanna’s believes in - Interpretation. Innovation. Identity.

With every handmade piece, the label aims to encapsulate a story; one that is only and fully yours.
JOANNALSM label started in the heart of Singapore’s Lasalle College of the Arts in 2017 by Joanna Lim for a graduate collection. Back then, Joannalsm launched 3 collections, Yuan,
