HOW IT ALL STARTED
Once upon a time I was browsing the facebook when I suddenly received a message from Anthony Wayne who sent me a link. The link directed me to Choy Symes facebook page. There I saw my picture next to the text: "Natasha .. was nominated to The Face Of Australia Glamour Awards. I thought "OGO, what an honor!" and being a very humble person I of course shared the post with all my readers and thanked the organisation that acknowledged our work... I was speechless and touched before I was excited. I got so many comments under this post people congratulating me till as suddenly as that nomination Alexander O Montgomery commented under Anthony's comment: we did great! That was the minute when I realised how it all happened and who vouched for me... The more I was excited and moved.... I think I was all in tears that day but I did not tel anything to Alex thinking it would not be good to show off... when after two days he suddenly (again! third time this words appears in my writing!) he mentioned while we were driving: "congratulations by the way... I thought you would yell it out and tell it to me loudly... yes I saw in on facebook....I am so proud of you darling!" This is when I told Alex: "really?" or something in this nature...
In a couple of days I got the message from one of our media crew members asking me if we can cover this event for our readers. It was a great idea so here we go: we got the best crew in and we were all there - Choy kindly gave us one whole table. We had Amit Singh to support us as our Ambassador, Stan Traianedes for professional photography, Daniel Penn for filming, plus Olga Kirk and Amit were running around and taking interviews from VIPs, queens and celebrities.
Only some days later I (suddenly) realised that that the FAGA event will have a fashion part with glorious ROCKY GATHERCOLE presenting his latest superb collection... so here we go , our crew arrived to the hall at 0400pm to prepare for the coverage...

THE FAGA EVENT AND ROCKY GATHERCOLE FASHION SHOW
Among the nominated (women only) for the awards one could see and here the familiar names and faces: Kwacha Luka a young fashion designer from Melbourne, Chantelle Patrice O'Donohoe, Renz Villanueva Mackenzie , Arzum Caglayancay. Dr. Sharon Suguilon, Ebony Bangit, Manisha Isaaks Mrs South Asia Australia 2017, Amber Dew Miss International 2017 3rd Runner Up, Destiny Lyons, Miss Junior Diamond Australia 2018 and current Sparkle Fashionista 2018, Kim Ruck, Hima Himani,Morgan Mancini and many more: queens were shining the noble crowns
The event was also featuring the famous celebrity designer Rocky Gathercole collections. It was the event devoted for a cause, with the intention to raise funds for the victims of child trafficking.
To say the least the showcasing of mind blowing Rocky’s creation was one unforgettable, breathtaking and most unforgettable experience.
He showed multiple collections: one changing the other. The cameras and iPhone did not stop filming and snapping. There was no one single person who would not carry her/his phone in the audience that paused for the moment to explode in the laud applause, then again and again and again.
The avant garde fashion show was opened with around 10 models who were dressed in black graffiti-like colored tight costumes - "trikos" that went all the way to their heads softly highlighting their slim figures , the girls appeared on stage dancing to the beat of the funky futuristic music. We really could not take our eyes off the stage. The sub-collections changed each other: there were girls dressed like birds in luxurious emu feathers imitating birds and birds of paradise. they danced to us with some amazing movements copying the happy birds seemingly inviting us to join them in their joy and emotional ecstasy.; there were boys looked like the show boys dressed in black short shorts covered with metal pieces, they wore the glasses in the shape of the motorbikes' protective glasses; there were collections of slim cocktail dresses shining ; the ones that looked like school-girls uniforms very sexy and attractive, the costumes covered with chess gold and silver pieces and safely pins, red, blue and while ball dresses collections, but the organic culmination , the apocalipsis of the show were the insects costumes. I would not have enough words to describe each and every costume - I have only one word - SENSATIONAL WORKS OF ART. We all had an opportunity to touch the fashion outfits as ALL the models stepped down to the audience to bland in and communicate and show us the garments close up. They were so immaculately done: the garments' details were wonderful to observe from the distance and they did not loose their surrealistic and glamorous appearance close up.
Stan's photos say it all. The photos highlight the best parts of the fashion show as well as BTS snaps and the FAGA official part of the event.
You will ask: what was my favorite part? I would say: I loved every minute of it being close to my friends and the people who love and respect me so much. It was a real pleasure sitting next to Anthony, Alexandra, Kwacha, Olga, Stan, Ashraf, Anthony , Amit and Manisha. I was also touched to my heart when Amit was looking after me bringing me food and drinks. One thing I know for sure we picked up the best Ambassador this year and I am so proud of it as Amit supports our values and his attitude is amazing indeed.
I was honestly proud to be part of the charity cause event and enjoyed the fashion not official part.
We all went behind the scenes after all to say hello o Rocky, to chat with many models and to take some extra snaps and film the more interviews.
What an evening! What people! What talents!
How well it was all organised: with the light touch of great food and drinks when everyone was so happy and excited with their time together!
There are some last words I would like to say to Choy:
Thank you dear Choy for the FAGA event for all your hard work and all our Glamour Awards we received honoring the extraordinary and inspirational women. Mine was Excellence Award. I was so surprised to receive it, so I was overwhelmed and so much proud of my achievements which I really share with all the people who assist me on this way: mainly our readers, our silent but honest and humble assistants, VIPs and media and so so many more! Thank you Anthony and Alexander for believing in me and Choy Symes for the opportunity.
I will continue my work in social media and editing, in organising and assisting, in helping the others and just being there with all my heart.
Thank you Face Australia for recognising all the women who contributed to the community , pageantry, charitable and voluntary work within the community in Australia and overseas...
and one more thank you: to Rocky for his limitless and daring talent!

ABOUT ROCKY GATHERCOLE
Before he made it big, dressing the likes of Katy Perry and Paris Hilton, Rocky Gathercole was a kid who left home at age 14 for the freedom of the streets.
Though he did not finish high school, he set forth to Saudi Arabia, where his employer helped him become the avant-garde designer he is now.
Mexican singer-actress Thalia has tapped him to create her outfits for her comeback concert in October, while American pop singer Sia has also chosen him to design a new look for her.
Amid the preparations for his famous clients, Gathercole is also preparing to have his famous works strut down the runway for a good cause.
He told Mornings@ANC on Monday, what started as a remark said in jest to ABS-CBN's Keesa Ocampo in May is turning into a reality soon, as he fulfills his dream of hosting a show for the benefit of Bantay-Bata, a cause so close to his heart.
"Battered child ako. Kung baga, part ko talaga yun. Kung bibigyan ako ng [pagkakataon], gusto kong tumulong sa mga kabataan," he said.
He recalled having to run away from home as he experienced identity crisis and roaming the streets of Manila alone for years. He worked as a helper for a rolling store on weekdays, but having to claw his way through surviving the weekends by himself.
Though he has been back to the Philippines, this is the first time that he has recounted his past.
"Hindi naman sa hindi ko na siya binabalikan, pero tapos na kasi yung chapter na yun. I’m thankful na lang na nabalikan ko siya ulit ngayon dahil sa mga bata," he said.
Rock the Runway will be on July 28 at Avalon Hollywood in California.
