REVIEW: Miss World Australia 2017
By Bryanna Reynolds
We were lucky enough to have attended the annual Miss World Australia Finals and crowning ceremony at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne, Victoria.
You can watch the official video of the interviews we captured with some of the top 10 finalists. The exclusive look behind the scenes video is on our Youtube Channel, Bohemian Rhapsody Magazine.
After the red carpet arrivals the ceremony began with catwalk shows and speeches made by the finalists talking about how they would make a difference if they were to win the glory title of Miss World Australia and how they would represent our country.
It was amazing to experience the MWA finals as I had never been to an event like it. It was truly beautiful to hear from so many talented women about their backgrounds and hear about their ambitions and dreams for the future.
The finalists were judged by a panel of expert judges including comedian David Hughes who brought a touch of comedy to the evening.
Throughout the finals the audience in attendance were left captivated and inspired by the events transpiring before them. It was easy to become entwined in the passion on stage and catwalk shows that accompanied the speeches. Special credit to Novo shoes and UGG who sponsored two of the catwalk shows and had you mesmerized in the colours of shoes, fashion and music playing out loud.
It was a very unique experience to have been a part of and see such a calibre of talent and inspirational women in the one room. It really is a larger than life experience you have to see to believe.
With more than 200 people in the room and a menagerie of media crew capturing the ceremony our exclusive look video captured the moment Esma Voloder delivered her speech and was crowned Miss World Australia.
I cannot wait to follow the journey of Esma Voloder over the next year to see all the adventures she takes and the impact she will make as Miss World Australia 2017.
Make sure to check out the exclusive video on Bohemian Rhapsody Magazine Youtube Channel.

Miss World Australia 2017 (Victoria State Finals)
by Jennifer Zaman
Organised at the Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne, the Victorian State Final of Miss World Australia 2017 was a grand occasion. The show began at 3 p.m.presenting 28 talented contestants from across Victoria. Out of all the contestants, only 8 would be selected to represent Victoria in the national finals. The contestant who raises the highest amount of funds for the children’s charity associated with this pageant, Variety, will directly go to the national finals along with the Jury-selected 7. The contests were judged by a talented bench of Jury members- Jackie Epstein (Girl About Town and Herald Sun Confidential reporter), Brooke Jowett (2016 Survivor contestant), Con Ilio (Australian Fashion Designer), Chris Jongebloed (2017 My Kitchen Rules Contestant) and the lovely Deborah Miller (Miss World Australia Director).
The contestants were judged based on three parameters- personality, evening wear followed by question and answer round. 7 participants were selected to join the national finals based on their personality, designer wears and smart answers to witty questions. The VIC National Finalists are Adau Mornyang, Claire Hall, Esma Voloder, Georgina Hope Gunn, Simone Smith, Vanessa Ong, Zara Keca, and Veronica Louvros (Highest fundraiser for Variety).
