Vitamin by Sonalika debut Australian 2018 collection show was a visual feast of colour, sparkle, and tradition fit for an Indian princess.
The use of natural silks, velvets, and richly decorated fabrics would suggest that collection targets special events and intended as party wear. And it’s certainly true: the show opened with traffic-stopping shiny sequins and lamé creations that can suit a beauty contest. It’s not a surprise that Vitamin by Sonalika is a fashion partner at Miss Multiverse.
However, it is noticeable that outfits are easy to wear and can be styled down to suit everyday life. My personal favourites - exquisitely embroidered tops and skirts can be worn with denim to change the look into smart casual.
Silk dresses are another excellent category, which can be worn casually: comfortable cut reminds me of Yoga and Meditation, so popular today; while bright happy colours make a statement and help to stand out from the crowd.
Sonalika Pradhan, a designer with Indian heritage, is well known internationally. It is her twelfth collection, but first in Australia. Naturally, her inspiration comes from the richness of Indian culture: the colours of the spices, the opulent celebrations, and happy memories; Sonalika wants every woman to feel truly special and unique.
I have to highlight the versatility of this collection. The designs are suitable for the multitude of body shapes and complexions: a multicultural group of models looked stunning and comfortable in Sonalika’s creations.
I am sure that Australian women would fully appreciate this exotic, yet down to earth image that comes from Vitamin by Sonalika!
