HISTORY AND PURPOSE
The ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase was established by Singapore fashion designer, Hayden Ng, on 8 August 2015 as a collective whose key Mission is to raise awareness of and appreciation for ASEAN’s unique and diverse fashion and design. Through this collective, the establishment seeks also to promote greater cross-cultural and creative collaboration.
ASEAN seek to achieve mainstream regional awareness for fashion designers and models nurturing up-and-coming, local fashion designers and models. The organization wants to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the fashion industry in the ASEAN region. They aim to mentor fashion designer students, so that they can find their design direction in the near future.

MACAU - UK
GUEST DESIGNER: NUNO LOPES DE OLIVEIRA
Nuno Lopes de Oliveira founded his own fashion brand – Nuno Lopes – in London in June 2015,after the great success of his graduate fashion show, which made him the first Macau designer to be featured in British Vogue, Vogue Italia and Wonderland Magazine.
In the following year, he was recognised as the Asian Top Young Designer at the 2016 Fashion Asia Awards.
In 2017, Lopes de Oliveira became the first Macau designer to showcase his work during London Fashion Week along with showcasing for Shenzhen Fashion Week.
In 2018, he even became the only Macau designer to headline the ‘Walk on Water’ show for Sands Macao Fashion Week. In the same year, he designed the national costume for the 2018 Miss Grand Macau, which is one of the top 3 beauty pageants in the world. As the first Macau designer to bring Macau fashion to the international scene, Lopes de Oliveira’s work continues to be popular with international celebrities and celebrity stylists.
In the following year, he was recognised as the Asian Top Young Designer at the 2016 Fashion Asia Awards.

Aidarkhan Kaliyev, chief designer of the fashion house "Asyl-Design", Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of Art History, member of the Union of Designers of Kazakhstan, consultant member of the Chinese Association of Clothing and Textile Manufacturers, member of the Eurasian Association of Designers, member of the World Association of Artisans, member of the Union of Designers of the Kyrgyz Republic, member of the Union of Designers of Uzbekistan, author of more than 80 author's and seasonal collections.
The first Asian designer to participate in official Fashion Week programs in Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Istanbul, Stockholm, Serbia, India, and China. Today, the name of Aidarkhan is known not only in Kazakhstan, but also around the world.
For many years, Kaliyev Aidarkhan revives, creates and introduces the neo-folk style and centuries-old traditions of nomad costume art into the modern world fashion.
The individuality of the fashion house of Aidarkhan Kaliyev lies in the fact that it produces fabrics, tapestries, felt products with an ethnic author's pattern, using computer technologies. Fashion house "Asyl-Design" annually produces two seasonal collections. As a rule, these are collections of highly artistic and exclusive models based on global trends, taking into account weather conditions, regional mentality and body types. The collections are made in the style of neo-folklore, prêt-a-porte lux class of the usual Aidarkhan Kaliev.:
1. loyalty to the traditions of nomadic costume art;
2. High quality;
3. introduction of innovative technologies in the design of modern clothing.
Since 2000, the fashion house "Asyl-Design" under the leadership of Aidarkhan Kaliyev has been developing costumes and props for large orchestras and ensembles, many creative groups and pop performers. The author's collections of Aidarkhan are recognized as the hallmark of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which for many years participates in international forums and exhibitions under the brand "Aspara".
Despite 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Aidarkhan Kaliyev is a modest, reserved person and at the same time an exquisite aesthete and patriot of his city of Taraz.
In 1999, with the aim of educating and raising the level of the garment industry in the region, he founded the college of model art and business "ASPARA". As the founder and teacher of special disciplines, Aidarkhan Kaliyev has produced a whole galaxy of the strongest specialists in the fashion industry. Over 20 years, more than 1,000 graduates have graduated from the college. Now graduates successfully conduct their business, work at prestigious enterprises in the city of Taraz, the region and throughout Kazakhstan.
In 2017, in order to promote creative youth to international markets, promote the image of the city of Taraz, Zhambyl region and Kazakhstan as a whole, he founded the international project "Aspara Fashion Week". The last, 6th season of Aspara Fashion Week was held online, it presented fashion collections of 100 designers from 40 countries and was attended by more than 30 international fashion experts of the world level. Thanks to this project, the global world learned about the fashion of Kazakhstan, as well as the richness of culture and tourist potential of its native city of Taraz. This project provided an opportunity for Asian designers to present their collections at international catwalks and exhibitions.
Selfless active promotion of Kazakhstani designers on the world catwalks through the "ASPARA Fashion Week", allocation of own grants for free training of talented children from the districts in the college "Aspara", persistent formation of an attractive image of the Zhambyl region and the city of Taraz in order to develop culture and tourism in the international arena at the expense of personal funds, targeted financial assistance to poor and large families, permanent organization of trips of senior students in the specialty "hairdressing" to orphanages and nursing homes for free service, etc. This is not a complete list of large-scale charitable works of Aidarkhan Kaliyev.
Given his many years of hard work, in 2015 he was awarded the Honorary diploma of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, in 2019 letter of thanks of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, letter of thanks of the Ministry of education and science, as well as the state medal for labor distinction from the President of Kazakhstan.

My name is Madina. I'm from Semey which is located in Kazakhstan, Central Asia. I started sewing 2 years ago when I joined Valentina Bukeeva's @bukeeva.school. Before that I never tried this. I decided to join this school because I liked her amazing work so I wanted to learn how to sew beautiful accessories and make my own hand work at home. I want to bring beautiful things to this world and this inspires me. I wish everyone to do what they like and what they are keen on!

Mrs Yeo, also lovingly known as YeoMama, and Desleen Yeo are the mother-daughter duo behind YeoMama Batik.
YeoMama is a full-time homemaker, nurturing Desleen’s creative potential since young, encouraging her interests in piano, violin, arts, sewing, and her creative imagination.
As individuals who are constantly itching for new experiences, both YeoMama and Desleen stumbled into the fashion industry as self-taught designers who draw inspiration from daily experiences.
Always bursting with fresh new ideas, the dynamic duo enjoy creating designs suitable for the modern lifestyle, and are excited to expand their fashion design knowledge and to collaborate with different personalities to bring more exciting ideas to life.

YeoMama Batik is a Singapore brand that uses traditional handmade batik to create clothing for the modern lifestyle. Each piece is handmade from start to finish, empowering the batik craft and community in Indonesia.
Thoughtfully designed by us, YeoMama and Daughter, who have different dress styles and body types, we believe that everyone deserves to look good and feel good regardless of your age and body shape. lt is all about being bold, being batikful, being yeoself!
The brand started with a simple telephone call.
YeoMama was on vacation at Yogyakarta in October 2017 when she chanced upon a lot of batik fabric. She called YeoDaughter who was then recovering from an ankle surgery, and casually joked about selling batik in Singapore, especially for curvier women such as herself who found it difficult to buy beautiful clothes. YeoDaughter gave a very casual and unexcited 'ok lor' reply and started thinking of the brand name, logo design, website design etc.
Fast forward three months later, YeoMama Batik officially launched their cheongsam collection in January 2018, and never looked back since and are continuously expanding their collection of modern batikwear.

The collection acts as a visual representation of the Moroccan heritage and Stockholm’s architecture, particularly the colourful townhouses of the iconic Stortorget, which served as an inspiration for the range.
