There’s no surprise when you meet Natasha Lukin that she is very personable as she’s spent many years studying and caring about human health and well being. Her focus has been on empowering us to take an active interest in our health with the use of natural therapies and treatments. Combining centuries old knowledge past down from her grandmother fused with her own scientific background this book explores many safe natural health solutions.
In our modern times we are moving further and further away from using basic ingredients preferring to use processed and chemically designed products. This can sometimes be to our detriment as we don’t know the full effects of the manufactured concoctions. Companies bombard us to buy with coercive marketing and advertising. Where possible and practicable we can lessen risks by simplifying our use of chemicals. The book has simple ingredients for remedies “My Grandma’s Health Secrets Revealed” proposes alternatives in an easy to read large print format.
There are 221 home remedies from the surprising versatility of vodka as an ingredient for health to the full explanation about onions and garlic, delving fully into their health benefits. Natasha also covers many answers to everyday cleaning with simple household ingredients. She also enlightens us with many benefits from using herbal, vegetable, fruit, mineral and plant remedies.
Every few pages Natasha has a quote from her grandmother or a Russian saying. I feel Natasha’s grandmother is behind the pages nodding her head with approval.
We need reminders it could be argued in this age to keep things simple. A return to the less complicated, tons of wrapping and packaging of products are destroying our environment. Natasha’s book jogs our thinking about simple everyday things in our cupboard like bicarbonate of soda which can be used for an abundance of healing solutions replacing several commercially advertised products. You might have as I did an inkling of some of the remedies and handy hints but if you’re like me you’ll learn much by the end of Natasha’s book
