Gluten Free Expo & Conference: Melbourne 2016
The Gluten Free Expo and Conference was an enjoyable experience for any one no matter your dietary needs.
I was diagnosed with Coealiac Disease 4 years ago and in this small time frame I have noticed so many changes in the world of choices when it comes to buying food. The best part about the expo was that there were so may new and valued brands there that I trust and it was amazing to actually met and talk to the people running these brands that I know and love.
You were able to walk around and taste a range of gluten free products and one that definitely dominated the market on the day was the array of Gluten Free breads on offer. Personally I dislike bread a lot and i think this is due to never finding one that was as good as what I had been use to eating. Generally I find GF bread to be like cake which is another type of food i generally don't eat a lot of. My mind was blown though by the yumminess of the different brands that I was able to taste on the day.
If after you had been walking around you found yourself working up an appetite there were even food trucks provided a complete GF menu. This ranged from Nutella donuts to pasta and pizza. It was a GF heaven.
The best part about eating GF food is that anyone can pretty much eat them. A lot of the time they are vegetarian and vegan friendly as well. My sister who came along with me on the day was even impressed by the array of goods and how tasty they were.
One of the sponsors Coles was present during the day with a lot of samples to try as well as a cooking stage showing off the different items you could buy and cook from the shelves at Coles. Coles has always been my go to place because of their huge range of homebrand Simply Gluten Free foods which cater to my needs.
If there is one piece of information I could share with you about the expo would be that it is a wonderful event for anyone no matter their dietary needs.
Thankyou to Coeliac Victoria and Tasmania for putting on this fabulous expo and conference. I look forward to future events just like this.
