INTERVIEW WITH ALEXANDER O MONTGOMERY
WHO IS ALEXANDER?
Alexander O. Montgomery is a published author, published model, an Entrepreneur and now a TV personality based in Melbourne, Victoria. On any given day, he juggles his time between photo shoots, filming, serving out his book signing obligations and managing his businesses. This fashion forward Melbournian who enjoys being clothed in designer threads and labels, first stepped into the public eye in March 2016 where his first book “True Confessions of a Potato Queen” published by VIVID publishing, was launched at the “Chillout” festival in Daylesford, Victoria with much success. From there, he has appeared on several Australian television interviews and most notably, his latest, on the BBC television broadcasting network in London. For the most of Winter last year, Alexander was preoccupied with filming for Matchbox pictures over several weeks for the much anticipated television show titled “Date my race” which was aired on SBS this 27 February at 8.30pm. “Date my race” captures Alexander’s journey into the dating world where his preference to only date Caucasian men are explored hence the question “Is it okay to have a preference when dating online?” Also on 23 February, Alexander was talking about his book “True confessions of a potato queen” at an event organised by the Port Phillip library services at the St Kilda library. Starting at 6.30pm, this talk which guaranteed a lot of fun and laughter exposes the lives, loves and lusts of gay Asian males who will only date White men. Among other contentious and controversial issues, this talk will also address burning questions probably on most people’s minds. Is the potato queen a gold digger, a traitor to his own kind or is he someone who hates himself? Where does he stand in today’s society? Is this label derogatory and is this purely a preference or is this sexual racism at its finest?
Alexander is passionate about life and with everything that it brings. He now looks forward into the future with anticipation as he immerses himself in several more film and television projects coming his way.

INTERVIEW FOR BUTTERFLY AND FOX CELEBRITES PAGES
press release by Irina Ivanova
II: Hello Alexander! Thank you for this opportunity to speak with you
AM: HELLO Irina, THANK YOU so much for taking on this task and writing a review for my book (ED: below)!
II: What or Who is the Potato Queen?
AM: A potato queen is a label that describes a gay Asian male who is exclusively attracted to a gay Caucasian male and who will only date a man of this race. The potato queen adores everything white. The white culture, white lifestyle, white diet, white norms, white friends, speaking the white language with the white accent and of course, the white c*ck. Not forgetting those who also worship the Caucasian's white wallet.

II: Is this an autobiographical story?
AM: No. It is a combination of stories from my own personal experiences and stories from my research for the book.
II: What message do you want to send sharing this story?
AM: The message is that all of us have to "own who we are" and to "accept ourselves before others can accept us".

II: You have a quite provocative portrait on the cover of the book - is it a photograph of yourself (because we have not yet had a chance to meet in person, therefore I don't even know how you look)?
AM: Yes, that cover photo is me.
II: The person on the picture looks more feminine rather than masculine with plucked eyebrows, beautiful skin and delicate jewelry. Who is this brave boy?
AM: It is me. LOL.
II: What is written on his chest and what it means to him?
AM: That is a tattoo "sayang" which means "love" in my native language, Malay.

TRUE CONFESSIONS OF A POTATO QUEEN BOOK BY ALEXANDER O MONTGOMERY
review by Irina Ivanova
review by Irina Ivanova
‘The author reckons that being gay is a blessing as his intuition is always on point.’...
“The true Confessions of a Potato Queen” by Alexander O.Montgomery is a mind-blowing exercise of self-expression and provocation. It is an eye—opening story of a vulnerable matter which I think gay people belong to. The reading is easy and captivating, although I suppose it won't be everyone's cup of tea.
The book is brilliantly written – with joy, good vibes and positive attitude. It is sometimes naughty – most of the time nasty, but in a good way, of course. ;)
“In the gay world a lot of it is about sex!” So please don't expect truly romantic stories and naïve revelations, or maybe…
There's lots of fraternal love on the pages off this book. I personally think that it sounds so cute when trannies and gays call each other ‘sisters’ and ‘lesbian besties’. The flow of the story is mostly smooth with some unexpected twists and lots of joking.
Funny and beautifully manipulated, the writing is engraved with all sorts of speech figures and sharp constructions aka ’x-ray vision’, ‘commanding presence’, 'slut’s true intention' and so on. I’ve discovered words like twink, nicety, pounding etc.,. not to forget mentioning “fully –fledged potato queen!”
The author explores the tough life of an Asian guy being born, like all the others, 'with the same black hair, dark eyes and yellow or olive coloured skin'. These days it is much easier to reveal to the world your real self, be it gay or an unhappy comedian, or a 40 something- star wars figurines collector. “In most parts of Asia, almost everything related to being gay is completely thrown upon.”
Therefore thanks god people can afford to travel!
