The Royal Melbourne Show 2016 is one not to be missed.
It is a family friendly event and is suitable for all ages.
Gates open from 10 AM so make sure you get there nice and early to take advantage of the full day of scheduled activities.
You may be thinking that its just rides and showbags but oh, let me tell you that there is something to tickle everybodys fancy.
I made sure to check out the Dog Pavillion where we were treated to a show by the cutest doggies i have ever seen. There was even a grooming station for pooch's to get a pamper post show.
But if you are like me and love to eat, make sure you check out the Food Pavillion and set of Masterchef. There are heaps of cooking demonstrations and free samples so you can try a little bit of everything before deciding on a purchase to take home with you.
For the little kids there is a nursery where kids of all ages can pat pigs, chooks and even milk a cow. How awesome is this !
Make sure you get there early to avoid the lines.
After you have walked around all the different pavilions i would suggest getting a bite or two to eat. Why not head down to the Country Womens Association cafe and grab a devonshire tea. The perfect combination of scones with jam and cream as well as a lovely cup of tea. I hear this year they are hoping to beat their 15,000 scones record which they made last year.
There is also plenty of live entertainment including motorbikes, equestrian and singing/acting performances to see around the showgrounds.
If you are lucky you might even catch celebrities from channel 7's own Home and Away as well as the stars of channel 9's The Block.
Make sure you take a camera with you because there are plenty of opportunities to capture hilarious moments with your friends and family.
Now if that wasn't enough to entice you to go to the Melbourne Show i reckon you are holding out for the showbags goss.
They are certainly better than ever, and i reckon they are pretty reasonably priced. I got a lovely Sukin (health and beauty) showbag with a range of products for only $25. There are of course the classics as well including the Wonka bag, every kind of chocolate you can imagine and the latest magazine's, Cosmopolitan and Dolly. You are sure to find a showbag that meets your fancy.
Now thats sorted you can sit back and enjoy the rest of your day and late night entertainment. Did i mention all the thrill seeking rides you can go on ? TIP you can get a discount pass for rides if you buy online before you go.
If you want to save time before arriving make sure you grab your tickets online and you can go through the fast track lane when you arrive at the gates.
Once again the Royal Melbourne Show is a fun and engaging experience for all, kids big and small so make sure you head on down.
