EQUITANA MELBOURNE 2016
press release by Anna Berger and Bryanna Reynolds
WEBSITE
Equitana Australia - for any horse lover - and it seems this year there were more than 50,000 of them - this would have to be the most exciting 4 days in a year!
The event, which took place at the Melbourne Showgrounds between 17-20 of November, was nothing short of spectacular! From breathtaking displays of stunning horses in Exhibition Eventing to 15 different horse competitions: including classy Dressage, thrilling Show Jumping, as well as the western favorites: toe tapping, seat gripping Barrel Racing, Reining and Cutting Competitions
The event included over 200 educational presentations by Australian and International experts, entertaining family shows and with over 300 exhibitors it was the biggest equine shopping spree in Australia - sure to satisfy every type of horse lover!
Out of all shows presented however, one that certainly stood out for me was The Way Of The Horse Challenge, a unique three day horse starting competition where three incredible trainers: Daniel Peter Robinson, Damian Hall and Mitch Gollan, showcased their starting techniques on horses which have never been under a saddle before. It was incredible watching these talented trainers get into a ‘zone', and through incredible communication get their horse to willingly go from a timid, suspicious, flighty animal to man’s best friend in such short period of time. Their patience and understanding of the horse's nature was nothing short of mesmerizing!
Overall the Equitana Event left all horse lovers totally satisfied and in absolute awe of what those incredible animals can do!
