Scientific research is one of the ways to end cancer. This research has to be done to save lives apart from the other investigations about the cause of the illness. Testing and analysis that is done by the professionals and doctors requires constant support with funds. This is when the National Breast Cancer Foundation becomes involved. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is the only national body that funds life-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public. Breast cancer is the most common life-threatening cancer facing Australian women, with approximately eight women dying from the disease each day — mothers, sisters, wives, daughters and friends. It is important that we know and remember it as we can change it.
There is the group that works towards reaching the fund raising goals called National Breast Cancer Foundation Victorian Events Committee. Research is the only way to improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. By funding only world-class research, NBCF is working towards a goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. NBCF research has helped develop better therapies, greater understanding of possible ways to stop the spread of breast cancer to other areas, and improved quality of life for patients and their families. Since 1995 we have awarded more than $140 million to 479 Australian-based research projects to improve the health and well-being of those affected by breast cancer. With no Government funding, this money has been raised entirely by the Australian public.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation Victorian Events Committee organises the events with a high purpose. It holds a number of events throughout the year to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. We were Lucky enough to attend the National Breast Cancer Foundation High Tea at Crown along the banks of the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia on July 23 as honored guests of Lakeside Hair Beauty Spa and Chanoyu Urban Retreat. The invite was received from our long term associates and Bohemian Rhapsody Club and Magazine supporters, Anne Nguyen and her business partner, Nayanie Pannipitiya). We were very fortunate enough apart from other VIP guests at our table to have gorgeous Esma Voloder the recently crowned Miss World Australia 2017 as well as beautiful Deborah Miller, the Miss World Australia manager.
As the high tea event progressed we had a chance to listen to the presentation of the breast cancer survivor, Sarah Singer. Esma Volder gave a speech on stage as well in support of the NBCF. We enjoyed a glass of champagne on arrival, a decadent assortment of sweets, savoury items, tea and coffee, all while catching up with good friends and raising money for the NBCF. Anne was kind enough to organise a pampering area at the presentation hall. The masters of beauty were happy to give complimentary makeup service and nail treatments to The Pink Ribbon event guests.
The event was set up with all the heart the organisers put in the table decoration and the important on stage presentations for the guests.
