REVIEW: Shrek The Musical

If you are looking for a family friendly event then go no further than the Union Theatre at Parkville in Melbourne University. The Young Australian Broadway Chorus have the best musical in town for you to come on down and have a good time with kids of all ages, that includes big kids as well! It is the place to be this school holidays.
For a limited season only from July 12th - July 15th you can sit back and be entertained by the brilliant performers in the Young Australian Broadway Chorus. We were lucky enough to capture a behind the scenes look at the show and chat to Shrek (Tristan Sicari) and Young Shrek (Noah Krstic) as well as share some performance video with you. You can check out the full video on our Youtube channel, Bohemian Rhapsody Magazine.
The upcoming young broadway talent are professionally trained and will take you on a magical journey with Shrek (Tristan Sicari) and Donkey (Aidan Khan) to rescue princess Fiona (Jasmine Arthur) from a tower guarded by a fiery dragon (Kristen Robertson) for the hilarious Lord Farquaad (Lachlan Wolters).
Each and every performer just blew you away with their talent and it's easy to see that they will be gracing the stages of broadway in the not too distant future. One of the standouts of the show was Kristen Robertson who absolutely nailed her song and performance as the fiery dragon, I could honestly see her performing professionally tomorrow!
The show includes performances of acting, singing and dancing and it was so beautiful seeing a variety of ages working together on stage to provide entertainment for a varied audience. The cast had you laughing and singing along throughout the show.
The stage was brought to life by world class lighting and props. What added to the cast performance were the beautiful costumes they were all wearing. Each time there was a new song there was a brand new costume and they all dazzled and were of the highest quality.
If you have ever wanted to see your favourite movie come to life then Shrek The Musical is for you and your family. Maybe it will even inspire your kids to get up on the stage one day and follow their own dreams.
It is the perfect environment welcoming people of all ages into an atmosphere where you get to sing along with the cast as they perform on stage and be taken on a magical journey led by pure talent.
Shrek the Musical is on until July 15th so make sure you secure your tickets and go on a marvelous journey with Shrek, Donkey and Fiona as the quest is up to you.
